BIOGRAPHY

Fang Liu is a dedicated litigator whose practice spans complex civil litigation, serious criminal defense, and immigration trial work. Her professional path is deeply personal. Emigrating to the United States from China at the age of twelve with her parents and three younger siblings, she experienced firsthand the formidable challenges immigrants face navigating the complex and often overwhelming U.S. legal system. Arriving at a young age and adjusting to an unfamiliar culture left a lasting impression that continues to shape her commitment to advocacy today.

These early experiences instilled in Ms. Liu a clear purpose: to make the legal system more accessible and navigable for individuals confronting life-altering legal issues.

Ms. Liu has participated in high-stakes, multi-million-dollar civil litigation involving substantial financial exposure and complex procedural frameworks. Working alongside seasoned trial teams, she has contributed to strategic motion practice, intensive discovery coordination, and trial preparation in cases requiring disciplined analysis and careful litigation management.

Notably, Ms. Liu was part of the litigation team in a significant federal class action matter in which the proposed class was successfully decertified. The decertification substantially reduced potential liability and reshaped the trajectory of the case in her client’s favor. Her role in that matter reflects her strength in structured legal analysis, certification challenges, and strategic motion advocacy in complex commercial disputes.

After graduating from St. Joseph’s College in 2009, she began working as a paralegal at The Kasen Law Firm, PLLC, a full-service immigration, civil, and criminal law firm. She quickly advanced to the position of Office Manager, supervising more than twenty staff members, including paralegals and support personnel.

While working full-time in that leadership role, Ms. Liu pursued her legal education at Touro College Fuchsberg Law Center, where she deepened her study of immigration and criminal law. She earned her Juris Doctor in 2019 and was admitted to the New York Bar in 2020. In recognition of her dedication and leadership, she was made a member of the firm in February 2020.

Ms. Liu regularly appears in Immigration Court for individual merits hearings and contested proceedings. She has achieved a strong record of success in immigration trials, helping clients secure relief in complex and high-risk cases. Her immigration practice reflects not only technical knowledge but personal understanding of what is at stake for families navigating removal proceedings.
